English Language and Applied Linguistics Programmes

The School of English at the University of Nottingham has long held a worldwide reputation for being at the centre of language and literature research and teaching. Our postgraduate courses, at both Masters (MA) and Doctorate (PhD) level, are very popular and highly regarded.

We offer the following English Language and Applied Linguistics Masters programmes by distance learning:

  • Masters Modern English Language (MA MEL)
  • Masters Applied Linguistics & English Language Teaching (MA AL-ELT)
  • Masters Literary Linguistics (MA LitLing)
  • Masters Applied Linguistics (MA AppLing)

All these programmes share the same modules.

PLEASE THE ABOVE COURSES ARE FULL FOR SEPTEMBER 2012. APPLICATIONS SHOULD NOW BE MADE FOR FEBRUARY 2013. 

For information regarding which modules are tagged for specific programmes please refer to the course structure, handbook or the Quick Visual Overview. By default all modules are tagged for the Masters Modern English Language (MA MEL) programme, however, students on other programmes do have a wide range of choices.
