Difficult people are likely to appear in all our lives at some point. Whether it's a colleague, a business associate, a client, or even a friend or family member, the chances are that we will all encounter individuals whose behaviours are more challenging to deal with than we either anticipated or wanted.
Difficult behaviour can take many forms. Dismissiveness, condescension, misplaced humour, inflexibility and arrogance, to name but a few. How do you deal with these, and other traits, when faced with them?
Leadership coach, founder and CEO, Costas Kalisperas (Law, 1990), shares the approaches you can take to diffuse, disarm and transform difficult situations, including separating the behaviour from the person, using inclusive language and applying your curiosity, goodwill and perspective.
