Socioeconomic background
‘Socioeconomic background’ can relate to an individual’s family, status or financial background.
All students and staff are welcome at the University, regardless of your background, and we remain committed to supporting you throughout your studies or work.
If you are a student, we will support you at each stage of your studies to help you perform at your best and progress to the next stage. We also have a specific Widening Participation and Outreach initiative that aims to recruit and support students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
