Bio: Dr Meghan Alexander's research spans environmental geography and political sciences; disciplines which are essential for understanding how to embed climate change into all aspects of decision-making (at different scales), identifying and overcoming the barriers to this and accelerating climate action. Her current research looks at the reasons for the growing 'adaptation gap', focusing on how certain 'lock-in' dynamics work to reinforce business-as-usual approaches and hinder transformative change. The research focuses on 6 key problem domains: coastal adaptation, water scarcity, biodiversity, forestry, heat stress and mental health.

Meghan has worked with policy partners previously, inputting into National Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategies for England and Wales
