BIOREME

EPSRC-funded Healthcare Technologies NetworkPlus grant: Integrating data-driven BIOphysical models into Respiratory Medicine (BIOREME)

The Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) provide funding for large networks (NetworkPlus) centred on Healthcare Technologies. BIOREME is one such NetworkPlus which brings together diverse individuals e.g. mathematicians, bioengineers, physicists, imaging experts, respiratory clinicians and patients. Together they work to understand the needs in respiratory medicine, establish key priority areas, gather data and catalyse new partnerships to help develop new research projects that use mechanistic models that rely on biology and physics to make an impact in respiratory research.

The Network is based around three themes:

1:  Improving treatment delivery and clinical trial design.

2: Developing the next generation of clinical lung function measurement.

3: Modelling the acute and long-term physiological effects of COVID-19.

BIOREME is offering three fellowships over the next three years for Early Career Researchers looking to develop a research project at the interface of mathematical modelling and respiratory medicine.
