NRC facilities

The brand-new National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) will be located at the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate and will share facilities with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC). The Centre will provide patients and staff with access to outdoor spaces across the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate. 

Such facilities include an outdoor treatment facility, 5km mixed-use cross-country trail, 1km trim trail, a hand cycle route, mini golf course, lake, parkland and woodland. The NRC will also have access to facilities and equipment within the DMRC including:

  • Hydrotherapy pools 
  • Gait laboratory 
  • Prosthetics laboratory and exercise area 
  • Radiology: x-ray, bone density DEXA scanners, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 
  • Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN)
 


Cobot Maker Space

Based at the University of Nottingham, the Cobot Maker Space facilitates the exploration, research and design of human-robot interaction.

Intended to explore the future of collaborative robotics, the Cobot Maker Space is developing novel technologies for the National Rehabilitation Centre to help patients regain health and maintain independance.
