New Student Finance Calculator
The BBC have developed a Student Finance Caluclator showing how much you may repay and over how long for students who will come under the 2012 funding package.

Bus Pass offers for students
Trent Barton Buses and Nottingham City Transport (NCT) have just announced the price of their student annual bus passes for 2011/12. The Trent Barton pass is valid for all year and costs £189, while the NCT pass can be used from 5th September 2011 to 31st July 2012, costing £179.

NHS student funding package for September 2012
The new funding package has been announced for students wanting to study Nursing, Midwifery, Dietetics, Physiotherapy and other NHS funded courses. Students will receive a non means tested bursary of £1,000, a means tested bursary and a reduced rate student loan. The tuition fee will be paid by the NHS.

Local Authorities hand over Student Finance to SFE
A message for students who usually apply to their Local Authority for Student Funding.
From Jan to March 2011 ALL local authorities in England will transfer the responsibility for assessing student funding applications to STUDENT FINANCE ENGLAND (SFE).
For 2011-12 academic year you will need to submit any paper application for funding, and any queries re your student finance, to SFE.
If you have any questions about the transfer please contact SFE on 0845 3005090.
