A pioneering, global university funded on philanthropy with an unwavering commitment to Asia Pacific.
With more than 41,000 alumni in the Asia-Pacific region and a combined global community of more than 340,000 alumni, the University of Nottingham has been described as "Britain's first truly global university".
We have a proud track record of pioneering innovations, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, where Nottingham teams engage in community-centred projects, spanning environmental and societal initiatives, cutting-edge healthcare innovations and an unwavering commitment to providing quality education for everyone, regardless of their gender, background or race.
In the year 2000, we were the first UK university to open a campus in Malaysia and have recently celebrated 25 years of making an impact in the country, which you can read about here. This was followed in 2004 when we were the first international university to establish an independent campus in China. This dedication to the APAC region led to the creation of our Hong Kong-based team in 2023, which focuses on alumni engagement, as well as philanthropic and industry partnerships in the area.
Thanks to our supporters, Nottingham has gained recognition as one of Britain’s leading universities for philanthropic investment. This plays a crucial role in the well-being of our students, the calibre of our staff and our ability to improve lives through access to quality education and the impact of our research in addressing critical, real-world challenges.
