Welcome to the Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre

 

The Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre (nmRC) is a cross-disciplinary facility dedicated to supporting and promoting world-leading nanoscience and materials characterisation.

With state-of-the-art facilities allied to in-house technical and academic expertise, the centre offers a diverse range of research and commercial capabilities. The centre is proud host to a unique suite of 20 instruments which facilitate the imaging and analytical investigation of materials from a wide range of scientific disciplines.

nmRC Facilities

The nmRC is located in the Cripps South Building, University Park, and currently hosts instruments in the following techniques:

The centre also offers a dedicated training area, sample preparation laboratory and a particle sizing suite.

Want to see what's causing the hayfever? Dr Beth Steer collected an airborne sample of pollens at University of Nottingham and found various grasses: elm, pine, sedges and oak - all collected in under a few hours!

Researchers at the University of Nottingham can access the nmRC by registering through our online booking system. Training on instrumentation can also be requested through this website.

Researchers external to the University of Nottingham can also access the nmRC facilities. To do so please contact us.
