Could you help shape the future of science education?

We're looking for prospective science teachers of the future to apply to the University of Nottingham’s Science Initial Teacher Education programme for 2025!

As a graduate with knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for science, you could inspire the next generation to follow in your footsteps. The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) combines expert teaching, practice-based classroom experience, and a supportive learning environment, to help you excel as an educator.

With access to cutting-edge research, and the support of experienced professionals, our program will empower you to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and contribute to the academic achievements of secondary school pupils. Secondary Science PGCE students are supported by a tax-free bursary of up to £31,000. We offer diverse school placements within and beyond Nottingham, and university-based days are held locally on Jubilee Campus.

So, why not take the next step in your career and become part of a vibrant and dedicated community of educators. You are welcome to meet the PGCE team on the monthly information sessions. Or apply today and start your journey to becoming a teacher who can shape the future of science!

We're recruiting now until the start of August for a September 2025 place and you can find out more in our Online Teacher Training Information Session on Wednesday 11 June, 5 to 6.30pm.
