Event details

At the heart of this free online event is the question: What is place data, and how can it help right now?

This event will feature a practical introduction to place and audience data for people working in and with local authorities, place-based partnerships, and cultural networks and consortia.

With growing demands from funders and stakeholders for evidence-based decisions, places are increasingly required to make clearer, more confident choices.
This event is designed to show how this can be achieved in practice.

The event will explore the nuances of National, Local, and Hyperlocal (street-level) data, taking a closer look at their unique characteristics and applications.

Discussion will be centred on:

  • what data exist; where they are; and what their limitations are; and
  • how data can be used to support decision-making for strategy and funding, programme design and engagement.

Participants will be invited to participate in discussion — sharing the kinds of data they are working on and working with, and what support they might find beneficial.

The focus of this event will be on shared learning, practical insight, and support, so there is no expectation that participants will have experience of working on data.

The event is targeted at:

  • local authority officers working across culture, regeneration, planning, economy or communities;
  • members of place-based partnerships, consortia and networks;
  • arts, cultural, heritage and creative organisations involved in place-based work; and
  • anyone working on Creative and Cultural Strategies, Town or City of Culture bids, Pride in Place or Community Planning.
