If you are a postgraduate or undergraduate student with strong support skills who would like to help other students with their IT requirements, then a job on the Student IT Support Programme (SITS) at this year’s start-of-session could be just the opportunity for you!

Here's what's on offer

The University's IT department – Information Services are recruiting a number of new vacancies to work during the next academic year on the 2018 SITS programme.

  • We aim to give SITS Tutors an average of 9 shifts at approximately 3 hours per shift and earn £9.72 per hour
  • Joining SITS is a great way to gain employed experience and could be a real asset to your CV

Here’s what you’ll do

Following a comprehensive full-day training session, you’ll become a SITS Tutor ready to offer support to other students on a range of IT services, including email, Office 365, connecting to the Wi-Fi and printing documents.

Here’s what you need

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Knowledge of using Windows 10, 8 or 7 and Apple Mac OS X (desirable)
  • Knowledge of using Office 365
  • Knowledge of Print, Copy, Scan service
  • IT literate and familiar with a wide range of IT services offered by the University
  • Registered as a student at the University of Nottingham for the duration of the SITS programme

The closing date for applications is 6 June. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to group interview in mid June. Successful candidates will be informed by no later than 29 June.


About SITS

Our SITS tutors are on hand at the start of session and during term to help new students get started with the University's wide range of IT services including Wi-Fi, printing and more.
