Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The University of Nottingham supports a wide variety of activities in support of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and our researchers across numerous disciplines are conducting leading research that contributes to understanding of EDI issues. To promote greater coherence across this broad and varied sphere of work, the University has launched its Diversity and Inclusion Research Hub, led by Professor Louise Mullany

The Diversity and Inclusion Research Hub is an interdisciplinary platform which unites researchers by focusing on bringing about sustainable, long-term sociocultural change in our societies. The Hub brings together researchers across the three campuses of our University, in Malaysia, China and the UK, who specialise in investigative research on issues of diversity and inclusion. By working together and building upon our existing strengths, we aim to make Nottingham an internationally recognised, interdisciplinary centre of research excellence, taking full advantage of the innovation that results from colleagues working at the interface of different disciplines.

The Institute for Policy and Engagement works with academics from the Hub to produce materials to inform policy choices around EDI, and to support public conversations about EDI issues. You can explore some of these materials on this page, which is continually updated and expanded as the work of the Hub progresses.
