Global Buddies

Make friends with a current Nottingham student through the Students' Union's Global Buddies scheme for international and EU students.

Friendship is at the heart of Global Buddies. They can put you in touch with a student mentor who will answer your questions about student life at Nottingham and help you settle in when you arrive on campus.

You can also get involved in monthly meetups to meet other students from the UK and around the world.

Get ready to travel

Plan your travel arrangements carefully for a smooth journey, including your visa, packing and transport connections. Students travelling from many countries also need to self-isolate (quarantine) after arriving in the UK.

Get ready for student life

There are some practicalities to complete when you arrive, such as opening a bank account and registering with a doctors' surgery. It's also a good idea to read up on what to expect when you will live and study in the UK.

If you can't travel to the UK

We hope you can join us on campus for the start of your course, but we know some students may still be affected by travel or other restrictions which could prevent you from travelling to the UK.

In this situation, you may be able to begin your course remotely from overseas and join us on campus a few weeks later. We'll make sure you have access to the teaching and support you need.
