Triangle

Whether you're travelling by car, tram or train, getting to our Experience Days and travelling between campuses is easy. Most of our campuses are not far from Nottingham city centre.

The only exceptions are the School of Biosciences and the Vet School based at our Sutton Bonington Campus. This campus is still easily accessible by public or private transport.

The campus you need to travel to will be detailed on your booking confirmation email and on the UoN Open Days app. If your subject activity is taking place here, you should arrive at University Park Campus first and head to the Great Hall, Trent Building (building number 11 on the map

Find directions, maps and more information on travelling to each of our campuses:

On your journey to our campus, why not listen to our podcast, Find your Nottingham: The Podcasts where you'll hear our students speak about topics relevant to you. This includes information about careers, wellbeing, admissions and accommodation.

How to get here

We’re committed to making our university truly sustainable and encourage you to use public transport where possible.

Travelling by train

  • For University Park and Jubilee Campus, book a train to Nottingham railway station and catch a tram to the University of Nottingham stop.
  • For Sutton Bonington we will reimburse your taxi costs to the campus from either Loughborough Station or East Midlands Parkway Station.

Travelling by bus

We have a strong partnership with Nottingham City Transport (NCT), which is a multi award-winning bus company. They are kindly offering free transport for offer-holders and their guests on the date of their offer-holder event.

To get your free Grouprider ticket for use on the Nottingham City Transport bus network in the City Zone complete the form on the NCT website. You'll receive an email explaining how to claim the ticket through the NCTX Buses App, which you will need to download (remember to check your spam/junk folders). Please note, it may take up to 48 hours to receive your ticket.

There are regular public bus services that run between the university campuses and Nottingham city centre. Download NCT's campus bus guide to find out more. The buses are fully accessible, with features like wheelchair access, audio-visual displays, and support for various disabilities.

 Travelling by coach

Nottingham is easily accessible by coach with arrivals to Broad Marsh bus station in the city centre.

Travelling by tram

The university area of the city is easy to reach using the Nottingham tram network and this can help you avoid traffic congestion.

Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS) and Toton Lane (NG9 7JA) park and rides are close to the M1 and the tram runs directly to University Park Campus from there. If using the tram, from Phoenix Park you can change lines at Nottingham train station and head towards University Park. The Toton - Hucknall tram line includes two stops on University Boulevard:

  • The University of Nottingham stop at the south entrance to University Park
  • The University Boulevard stop adjacent to Highfields Sports Ground
