The Language Centre
Welcome!
The Language Centre offers a broad range of language classes including:
Inter Faculty modules (10 credits per semester):

Modern Standard Arabic,

French,

German,
-
Modern Greek,

Italian,
-
Japanese,

Mandarin Chinese,
-
Portuguese and Spanish.
The levels range from stage 1 (beginners) to stage 6 (near native speaker competence). Students may join any stage depending on their previous language experience.
We also offer the following classes:

Roberts Funded classes for eligible postgraduate students and early career researchers

Classes for MBA and MSc Students from the Business School

Evening classes open to members of the public, University staff and students

Easter revision classes for local Secondary Schools
At the Language Centre we focus on providing language training with the emphasis on communication which, at the higher stages will support the professional person working in a bilingual context, incorporating a number of transferable skills much sought after by potential employers. Nottingham Advantage Award
The Award is designed to encourage you to think about the skills you are developing through your language learning and how you can demonstrate these to an employer. Undergraduate students taking part in an evening language class are able to earn credits towards the Nottingham Advantage Award. To find out more and to register please go to
