Have you read Brave New World?

If you’re a new student you will be able to collect a free copy of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World when you arrive at university.

Much like John (one of the story’s protagonists) you may find yourself a long way from home in what might seem like a strange environment. Which is precisely why we’ve introduced the Nottingham Reading Programme.

The Nottingham Reading Programme is a great way to get talking to other students as you’ll always have a conversation starter with other first years. You will also be offered the opportunity to take part in reading groups, giving you another chance to meet like-minded people.

Each book has been specially customised for the University of Nottingham.

We hope you enjoy reading this special edition, but more importantly, we hope you enjoy your time here with us.

Have you got your copy?

If you're based in halls, you should have received Brave New World when you moved in. If you didn't receive your copy, speak to your Hall Warden. If you are a new undergraduate or postgraduate student living in private accommodation, you can pick up a copy from one of our libraries or from Blackwell’s bookshop in the Portland Building

Get involved

Want to discuss the book? Whether you're thinking about setting up a reading group or just want to have an informal chat with friends, our guide may be useful. Download the reading group guide for a checklist, suggested questions and more.

The Nottingham Reading Programme is supported by Impact: The Nottingham Campaign.
