Guest ticket allocation
All eligible graduands will receive an invitation email in October 2017.
Graduands can purchase up to 2 guest tickets when they register.
Graduating students do not need a ticket.
Guest tickets are £20 and include parking, welcome tea and coffee, admission to the hall ceremony, a celebratory brochure and post-ceremony refreshments.
Tickets and seating
Graduating students do not need to purchase a ticket. You will be given your ticket on the day along with your guest tickets. You must sit in the seat as stated on your ticket to ensure you cross the stage at the correct time.
In opting to attend your graduation ceremony you are choosing to have a graduand ticket and agreeing to cross the stage in academic dress. If you wish to attend the ceremony as a guest please let the graduation team know.
You should keep your ticket with you as you will need it to gain entry to the refreshments after the ceremony.
Complimentary child tickets
Graduation ceremonies are formal, lengthy events and experience has shown that children become bored and restless. However, we appreciate that it is not always possible to make alternative childcare arrangements.
Children under the age of 2
You may apply for up to two complimentary tickets for use by children under the age of 2 years. Children using these tickets must sit in an adult's lap, not on a seat.
Children aged 2 and over
Children aged 2 and over must have a full-price guest ticket for entry to the ceremony.
Students will be notified directly if further tickets become available. After registration closes we will assess whether any extra tickets are available. If tickets are available these will go on sale on a first come first served basis. We do not keep a waiting list for guest tickets and again cannot consider any exceptional circumstances.
Details regarding the possibility and means of purchasing any extra tickets will be sent out to all graduating students once confirmed.
Request a refund
After 1 December 2017, reqests for refunds will not be accepted other than due to exceptional circumstances. You can request a refund by emailing graduation.
Guest tickets will not be posted prior to the ceremony, tickets will be collected on the day of the ceremony when you register. Students will be sent a confirmation email detailing the number of guest tickets that they have purchased and are asked to bring this email with them on the day. Graduands will be issued with the correct number of tickets when they register. If you are travelling separately please make arrangements to rendezvous with your guests to hand over their tickets.
If guests are unable to make arrangements or are running late, graduands can make arrangements when they register for guests to collect tickets from the Foyer after student registration has closed. Please note that tickets will only be issued where the graduand has registered.
Guests are asked to take their seats at least half an hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Guest seats are not numbered, therefore the earlier guests take their seats the more choice they will have.
