Wobble Week

Monday 31 October - Friday 4 November 2022

A week of activities to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by university.

You might be missing home, feeling like you don’t fit in, finding it difficult to motivate yourself to learn, finding your second year university experience differs from your first, and if you are an international student you may be struggling with British culture. Everyone experiences moments where they feel unsure about things or have a ‘wobble’. Wobbles can happen about anything at any time. We want you to know that however your feeling it’s OK. The university is well prepared to support you.

Wobble week aims to foster a sense of belonging between all students across campus, encouraging an honesty in sharing and acknowledging some of our more vulnerable moments. Wobble Week provides an opportunity to unwind, share and belong.

Wobble week 2022 is now over but look out for news about future events on this page. We'll be back in October 2023...see you then!

Thinking about your career, applying for jobs, and being at work can be exciting and rewarding, but sometimes these activities can present challenges and might be a source of stress or anxiety. This online resource explores some of the things that might cause you concern and provides helpful insight and advice, alongside ideas and inspiration to support your career wellbeing.

There are three sections within the resource that focus on different career activities:

  • Section 1 – looking after your wellbeing when exploring career options

  • Section 2 – looking after your wellbeing when applying for jobs and taking part in recruitment activities

  • Section 3 – looking after your wellbeing at work (including part-time work, internships, placements or volunteering)

Dip in wherever you please and use the resources that are relevant to your needs, or work through the content as a Nottingham Advantage Award module.

Conversation Cafes are pop-up, safe spaces, where we talk face-to-face about what matters most. Through presentations and discussion we curate brilliant conversations that might just change your life.
