Centre for Equitable and Inclusive Food Systems

We aim to engage diverse voices to co-create meaningful initiatives that will deliver a just, equitable and inclusive food system for people everywhere, leaving an impact on both society and our environment.

Our work brings together researchers, community food organisations, farmers, small producers, and practitioners to reimagine how food is produced, distributed and valued with equity and inclusion the focus of these interventions. We aim to foster partnerships and critically engage in questioning power structures and systems that lead to inequitable food systems, while amplifying less powerful voices.

Through the translation of research and community engagements, we will co-create meaningful solutions and pathways to make our food system more just for future generations.

"Food system transformation is crucial for achieving healthy, nutritious and sustainable food for all. We need to focus on issues of justice, equity and inclusivity when exploring what such transformation will entail. Working together with communities, researchers and practitioners, we aim to lead a movement that centres diverse and less heard food voices and co-create inclusive food futures."
