Wobble Week 2025

Monday 27 October - Friday 7 November 2025

Two weeks of activities to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by university.

A wobble is a moment when you feel unsure about things, and everyone experiences them from time to time. You might be missing home, feeling like you don’t fit in, finding it difficult to motivate yourself to learn, finding your second year university experience differs from your first, and if you are an international student you may be struggling with British culture. Wobbles can happen about anything at any time. We want you to know that however you are feeling, it’s OK. The university is well prepared to support you.

Wobble Week aims to foster a sense of belonging between all students across all our campuses, encouraging an honesty in sharing and acknowledging some of our more vulnerable moments. Wobble Week provides an opportunity to unwind, share and belong.

For guidance and tips on managing finances, visit the student money manual and the university's guide to managing your money.

See more links to information and resources that can help support you during your time at university.

Forest Bathing

Come to the woods to enjoy a mindful moment. Listen to the birds and perhaps find a tree to hug -  it's proven to make you happier, honest!  When you hug a tree your body makes happy hormones, just like when you hug a human. These hormones can boost your mood and ease anxiety. Trees also release phytoncides to protect themselves from pests and diseases. These chemicals can help people by improving our immune systems and reducing stress.  Tree hugging is also a way of working out how old a tree is. And we have some old trees on University Park. Come and meet some of them!  If you want to know what birds you can hear, we suggest downloading the wonderful Merlin bird app.
