Before coming to the University of Nottingham to study Sustainable Urban Design, I specialised in environmental design. My interest is in urban regeneration and redevelopment. In particular, sites with historical monuments that are designed to respect the original character and values of historic sites, while modernizing and adapting them to allow people to re-engage with their history.

Liverpool Water

Liverpool Water is an industrial port regeneration project located on the banks of the River Mersey. There are a number of historic sites around the site, such as the Tobacco Warehouse and Victoria Tower, which give the site its unique historic ambience.

The project aims to create a diverse and sustainable mixed-use community with a rich residential experience and social opportunities while echoing the surrounding history and culture to create a unique and attractive waterfront residential environment.

Each building will have the opportunity to enjoy views of the riverfront and to interact and visually communicate with the historic buildings. The architectural design of the entire community will not only continue the character of the surrounding historic buildings and heritage but will also have its own unique architectural structure and decorative features. Rooftop gardens and courtyards create sustainable living patterns for residents, providing multiple types of social opportunities to encourage interaction and community connections.
