The Thrill of the Chase
Jonathan Neale (Physics, 1984), Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Group, took us inside the fast-paced world of Formula 1 as he delivered an exclusive alumni lecture at The Institution of Engineering and Technology this November.
Across three core themes exploring high performance teams, the need for reinvention and conflict as a resource, Jonathan considered the race behind the race - what it takes behind the scenes to create the powerful moments we see out on the track. Through his insightful lecture, he touched on a range of topics including how to use states of challenge to build organisational resilience, engendering a culture of reinvention, and why McLaren performs best when it takes risks and makes brave decisions.
