Taiwan Research Hub logo

The Taiwan Research Hub brings together researchers from different disciplines and career stages to improve our understanding of Taiwan. We look at the fields of politics, history, culture, society, international relations, and economy.

Globally, Taiwan plays a significant role in East Asia and the Asia-Pacific's geopolitical affairs. Taiwan is central to the worldwide technology value chain. It’s often known as an ‘economic miracle’ and a leading example of ‘third wave’ democracies. Its social movements, like the push for marriage equality and the Sunflower Movement, advocating transparency in trade relations with China, highlight its dynamic and evolving democratic status.

To share our knowledge on Taiwan, we have a book series called Taiwan and World Affairs. We also have our online magazine, Taiwan Insight, and our Facebook and Instagram pages.

However you choose to participate, we hope the Taiwan Research Hub will provide you with a rich academic community. We welcome you to follow our activities, attend our events, including our annual conference, and submit to Taiwan Insight or our book series.
