Beeston

The small market town of Beeston is all-inclusive with its own train station, large Sainsbury’s and Tesco supermarkets as well as a selection of local grocery shops, butchers and markets. There are hairdressers, chemists, and banks. High street shops include WHSmith, Boots, Superdrug, Argos, with clothes shops such as New Look and Peacocks.

The town is full of takeaways and restaurants ranging from Indian to Italian cuisine as well as pubs and cafes, both well-known and independent, so you will never be short of somewhere to eat. It is a compact and lively town and provides almost everything you’ll need, right on your doorstep.

Home to many students, Dunkirk has a cafe, pubs, takeaways, a convenience store and religious centres, right on the outskirts of University Park Campus.

A multiplex cinema and entertainment centre, including a bowling alley and a number of chain restaurants, is within walking distance of Dunkirk so there are plenty of things to do when you’re not studying.

East Leake

East Leake is a large village with a range of shops and services including a Co-op supermarket. Located approximately 3 miles from Sutton Bonington Campus, East Leake is a good option for students studying at our Sutton Bonington Campus. The village also benefits from its own Leisure Centre including a 25m swimming pool.

Kegworth

Kegworth is a large village located just off the M1 between Nottingham and Loughborough. It's a good location if you're based at Sutton Bonington Campus with quite a lot of student housing, a central market square, Co-op general store, and other small shops and pubs. There are several restaurants and a couple of takeaways. Located approximately 2 miles away from Sutton Bonington Campus, travel to Nottingham takes approximately 40 minutes.

Lenton

Lenton is a popular area close to the city centre and has a number of amenities that make it a great area for student living. With all the basics including banks, bars, supermarkets, pharmacies, pubs, religious centres, restaurants, shops and takeaways, Lenton provides all you need.

On top of that, you will be able to make the most of the community-run Crocus Cafe, recognised as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the country by the Observer Food Monthly, and the Lenton Centre, which has a swimming pool and gym.

Radford

Multicultural Radford is an inner-city area located just outside the centre of Nottingham. Radford has numerous specialist food and retail shops and a leisure centre that offers a wide range of activities.

If you choose to live in Radford, you will be within easy walking distance of the city centre, making it even easier to enjoy days and nights out in Nottingham.

Sutton Bonington

Sutton Bonington is a small village, ideally positioned right on the doorstep of our Sutton Bonington Campus. Sutton Bonington village has a few shops and other village essentials plus two pubs. There is a large conservation area at its heart, with 25 listed buildings contained within it. The area of Sutton Bonington is located straight off the M1, with public transport links for Nottingham city centre and Loughborough. The University's free bus service also takes you to the teaching sites in Nottingham.

Wollaton

Wollaton Deer Park and Hall

 

Wollaton is a quiet residential area that offers a handful of pubs, eateries, shops and leisure pursuits, whilst the wonderful Wollaton Park provides a lovely backdrop and a nice place to walk off Sunday lunches.

A leafy suburb, it boasts the superb Wollaton Park and Hall, home to the city’s Natural History Museum and Industrial Museum. Shops mainly consist of local family-run stores, and there are hairdressers, building societies and pharmacies in the area.
