Facilities

Facilities in our Department are state of the art with continuing investments and improvements always ongoing. We have fully-equipped modern lecture theatres, extensive laboratories with equipment from bench to pilot-plant scale, and 24 hour access to IT facilities.

We are one of few Departments in the UK with access to mass spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy and we have a ‘virtual-reality’ suite where you can construct and optimise your own complete processing plant.

The Environmental Technology Centre

The Environmental Technology Centre is our technology transfer unit, bringing our students together with local businesses to provide them with live problems and issues to use in their studies.

With a wealth of technical knowledge and cutting edge equipment, this is a real bonus for our students.
