Hi! I’m Anna, a BEng Product Design and Manufacture student at the University of Nottingham, from the sunny island of Cyprus. Outside of design, you’ll usually find me with a camera in hand, as photography is one of my biggest passions and a huge influence on how I see and capture the world around me.
I chose to study PDM because it perfectly balances creativity and critical thinking. It’s not just about coming up with beautiful ideas, it’s about making them real. I love how this course allows me to push the boundaries of imagination while also diving deep into how things are made, understanding materials, processes, and the real-world constraints of manufacturing.
The parts of a project that really light me up are the early concept sketching phase and the final rendering. Sketching is where anything is possible, no idea is too weird or too wild, and that’s where the magic begins. Then, bringing it to life through rendering feels like watching your imagination take physical form, with every material, colour, and reflection adding a new layer of realism.
As I look ahead, I’m aiming for a career that lets me do what I love, designing products that are not only functional but also realistic, and visually engaging. Whether it's through ideation, CAD, or creating powerful visual narratives, I’m all in!
