A visit to the University of Nottingham wouldn’t be complete without experiencing some culture in the city that is home to the legends of Robin Hood!
There are four key cultural attractions that are included within our standard two week programme. These can be adjusted or changed with additional extra cultural activities available on request.
Wollaton Hall
One, of the UK’s finest historical Grade 1 listed Elizabethan Mansions, set in 500 acres of natural parkland. Home to a natural history museum, you can browse through the inner rooms of the mansion exploring the large collection of fossils, preserved animals and historical objects and specimens.
The parkland is home to several deer herds as well as a range of diverse habitats including grasslands, wetlands and woodland. When visiting Wollaton Hall you may feel a sense of familiarity when taking in the impressive external architecture, as the site has featured in a number of motion pictures including Batman the Dark Knight Rises.

Nottingham Castle
Learn about the rich history of Nottingham Castle and the legend of Robin Hood whilst exploring its grounds.
Famed as the location of Robin Hood’s battles with the Sheriff of Nottingham, a visit to Nottingham Castle allows you to explore over 1000 years of lore and history. With a number of exhibits, you will be spoilt for choice. From the interactive Robin Hood Adventure’s exhibit which allows you to immerse yourself in the experience and join Robin and his Merry Men on their adventures to the various galleries covering the history of Nottingham’s lace industry, arts and crafts.
If you wish to enhance your visit further, we can also arrange for inclusion of the Underground Adventure Tour allowing you to explore the caves beneath the castle and delve into their expansive history.

Warhammer World
Visit the home and birthplace of the cult strategy tabletop war game.
The Empire Castle themed gaming hall allows visitors to play their own games with friends or watch some of the ongoing games and events in play. Even the restaurant is themed with a great stone fireplace and hanging candle lights. Offering a wide selection of food and drinks from small snacks to full meals, there is something to cater to every taste.
The vast exhibition hall is a museum of rotating exhibits, carefully curated to tell the story of Warhammer. With a curator leading your tour to ensure nothing is missed, you will explore a vast array of dioramas that tell the stories of Warhammer lore. Before finishing your visit, you will have the opportunity to visit the store which offers an extensive range of products and Warhammer World exclusives.
