How to get here

We can't wait for you to come and celebrate with us. Before you travel, here is all the information you need to plan your journey.

Make sure you check the timing of your graduation ceremony by visiting our ceremony dates and times webpage. We recommend that you arrive on campus at least 90 minutes before your graduation ceremony starts. Late arrivals may not be able to attend the ceremony, so please plan your journey carefully and allow sufficient time.

Travel arrangements

By car

When you arrive, please follow the signs for graduation and our parking attendants will direct you to the nearest available parking space. Some of our graduation parking locations can be a 15-minute walk away, so make sure you give yourself enough time to get there. We recommend bringing a pair of sensible shoes for the walk. Once parked, look out for the signs pointing you to David Ross Sports Village and head straight to check-in and gowning.

Please note that there is a £10 parking charge per vehicle. You can pay on the day but, if possible, please book your space in advance. This is to allow us to plan adequately and manage traffic on the day.

Book your parking

This year, to help manage traffic on campus we are asking guests to book a parking space in advance. Parking will cost £10 per vehicle and will be valid for the day of your ceremony. To avoid long queues at the end of the day and help us manage parking on campus, we ask that you kindly vacate your parking spot promptly once you have finished your celebrations on campus

You will be able to book your parking closer to your ceremony date, full information will be available on this webpage. Booking will be via RingGo parking, and you will be able to do this either via the website or by downloading the app. You will need to create a login, and we strongly recommend doing this before you arrive, even if you are planning to pay on the day.

Parking spaces

We have several car parks across University Park Campus but only a select number of these will be designated for graduation. Please follow the signs for parking on arrival and our graduation staff will guide you to the designated parking areas.

Accessible parking

If you or your guests require accessible parking, our security team will direct you to a suitable parking space on the day. You will still need to pay for parking via RingGo.

If you or a member of your party are a blue badge holder, you do not need to pay for parking, provided you display your badge.

Visit our accessibility and support page for further information or take a look at our parking FAQs.

By train

If you are arriving by train, we suggest you arrive at Nottingham Train Station, and from there the easiest way to get to University Park is via tram. There is a tram stop directly connected to Nottingham Train Station, and from there you need to catch any tram going to Toton Lane and get off at University Boulevard stop. This is much closer to the ceremony venue than the University of Nottingham tram stop. For more information including tickets and timetables, please visit https://www.thetram.net/

You can also get a taxi from the train station. There is a taxi rank on Station Street or you can use Uber or DG Cars to book a taxi directly. Please select David Ross Sports Village as your destination to ensure you arrive as close as possible to the ceremony venue.

By tram and bus

Nottingham’s tram lines provide direct links to University Park Campus from various points around the city - including Nottingham Train Station. The closest stop for graduation is the University Boulevard stop. Please remember all tram travel is ‘buy before you board’, so make sure you buy a ticket from the machine at the stop or validate your travel pass before getting on a tram.

Nottingham's bus network is extensive and there are lots of options to get to University Park Campus. The numbers 34, 34C and 36U buses run regularly from Nottingham City Centre onto campus and stop close to David Ross Sports Village. You can find out more about all the bus options available on our bus service webpage
