Reimagining Sneinton is an architectural masterplan focused on regenerating a key brownfield site adjacent to Sneinton Market, on the eastern edge of Nottingham’s city centre.

I completed my Bachelor’s in Architecture from Pune in 2022 and worked in practice for two years. My growing interest in people-oriented spaces led me to pursue a Master’s in Sustainable Urban Design. The studio experience deepened my understanding. This studio emphasized the importance of site studies in understanding context and potential. This module helped provide valuable insights into sustainable urban regeneration with a strong focus on community.

Reimagining Sneinton – Co-Urban Creative Quarter

Reimagining Sneinton is an architectural masterplan focused on regenerating a key brownfield site adjacent to Sneinton Market, on the eastern edge of Nottingham’s city centre. The project aims to establish a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood, ushering in a new phase of the city’s Creative Quarter. The design integrates diverse and affordable housing, adaptable workspaces, and dynamic public realms. Anchored by pedestrian- and cycle-friendly streets, the development prioritizes connectivity, sustainability, and reduced car dependency. A core concept was linking Sneinton Market with two nearby parks through a series of active public plazas, fostering engagement and community life. Climate-responsive massing and a human-centred approach ensure long-term resilience. The project reflects Nottingham’s ambition to be a leading UK creative city, supporting local prosperity and quality of life through urban regeneration rooted in culture, accessibility, and innovation.
