Catered halls

Undergraduates only

All catered halls are owned and managed by The University of Nottingham.

Where are the halls?

There are 14 catered halls, 12 on University Park Campus and two on Jubilee Campus. You may choose to live on the same campus you study on, but you don’t have to. The campuses are less than a mile apart and there are frequent free hopper bus links. Have a look at the accommodation map to decide where is best for you.

University Park has a choice of seven room types. All rooms on Jubilee Campus are en-suite. Your fees will vary depending on the room type you choose.

If you are in catered halls your Student Card will be credited with a daily lunch allowance of £5.40* every weekday. This can be spent in any of the catered halls offering lunch service, or across many catering outlets on campus. University Park Campus and Jubilee Campus offer a wide range of food and drink options, so you won’t be short of choice

Events: you will have monthly "theme nights" and a formal dinner every term to look forward to.

Pantry facilities: if you feel hungry outside of meal times you'll find pantries in each hall with a sink, hot water boiler, and microwave.

*2016/17 academic year.  This is a daily weekday amount, your allowance will expire at the end of Sunday each week if not used.

Visit the Hospitality Team's web site for more detailed information on hall mealtimes and menus.

Housekeeping

Cleaning: your room will be cleaned every two weeks and communal areas are cleaned every week.

Bedding: Most students bring their own bedding, but bedding packs for you to keep are available from your Hall for a nominal charge.

Laundry: there are laundry facilities in your hall that you can use for a small charge. Remember to buy your own washing powder.

Hall life

Junior Common Room (JCR): the JCR committee is a group of elected students from your hall responsible for representing you in the Students’ Union. They also organise activities and social events for everyone in the hall. You can get involved in the committee as a new student as well. See the Students’ Union website for more details.

Hall managers: each hall has a manager responsible for the day-to-day running of the hall and they are committed to ensuring that you are comfortable in your new home.

Wardens and tutors: your hall also has a Warden or Deputy Warden and tutors on duty night and day for confidential support and advice and to ensure the hall functions as a community that benefits everyone.

Security: with 24-hour security, secure campuses and card-only access to your hall, we make sure your environment is always safe and secure.
