Projects and designs from students in our Architecture (ARB RIBA Part 2) course.
Year five
MArch Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 2) is focussed on design as research. Autumn began with a vertical year five/year six research studio, each studio with a different theme, methodology, and approach. In the spring, the year five design studio explored inhabitation and sociability through the design of post-carbon collective living in Nord Isère, France and took part in the Saint Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2025.

Year six
MArch Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 2) is focussed on design as research. Autumn begins with a vertical year five/year six research studio, each studio with a different theme, methodology, and approach. Year six students then commence their individual design thesis, investigating an idea through written, drawn, and modelled research. In the spring, the proposition made in the autumn is tested through a comprehensive and well-resolved design proposal.

L7 Apprenticeship
The Architect Degree Apprenticeship combines the best of practice experience and research-led education. It gives apprentices the opportunity to use their academic studies to enrich their real-world experience, enhancing their learning and confidence, and enabling them to make significant contributions to your practice’s research, projects and networks.
This three-year programme includes opportunities for in field field practice research studies making live contributions to practice advancement, as well as specialist studios exploring contemporary urbanism and global housing, before the apprentices embark on an individual yearlong thesis project explored through drawn and written research, with ideas finally tested and resolved through the final thesis design project.
