Our Inclusive Leaders are a network of students sports leaders supported by our award-winning Inclusive Sport team. You'll have the opportunity to get involved with a range of our inclusive sport and fitness initiatives, developing key skills and experience for your future career.

What is the Inclusive Leaders programme?

Our Inclusive Leaders will work alongside our Disability Sport Officer and Inclusive Sport Ambassadors to support our inclusive sport programme. It's a fantastic way to develop your leadership skills, gain experience of working with disabled people at the University and your local community and and ideal for students with a passion for inclusive sport.  Opportunities to get involved in through our Inclusive Sports Leaders programme include:

  • Inclusive sport and programmes at the University of Nottingham
  • Inclusive PE sessions at local Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and colleges
  • Para-sport events hosted at the University of Nottingham
  • Other disability sport events and programmes in our local community

The commitment required is flexible - you can get involved in one-off events, a series of visits or weekly programmes.

All students on our Leadership Academy can access a range of support and benefits when taking part in any of our opportunities. Our leaders will:

  • network with fellow student leaders to meet new people.

Skills you'll need

We're looking for leaders who;

  • are friendly with an inclusive approach.
  • have an interest in sport and physical activity.
  • are passionate about developing inclusive sport and activity opportunities.
  • have some awareness of the University's current inclusive offer for students. 
  • the ability to work well in a team.
  • the ability to work independently as needed.

It would also be beneficial, but not essential, to have lived experience of disability and / or experience working with disabled people or people with long term health conditions.
