Laureus Sport for Good Nottingham

Sport for Good Nottingham

Sport for Good Nottingham is a Programme that uses the power of sport to drive real social change in the local community. Our student leaders work with young people in schools to develop their life skills, design and undertake social action projects and help with the transition from primary to secondary school.

The Programme offers University of Nottingham students an ideal opportunity to develop important leadership skills and gain real work experience in the education and sporting sector.

The role:

  • Volunteers will deliver a minimum of 6 weekly sessions in a Nottingham primary or secondary school.

  • Through sport and physical activity, you'll act as a mentor to the children helping them to build key life skills, develop and deliver their own social action projects and make the move from primary to secondary school.

  • All volunteers receive extensive training, support from our Sports Project Outreach Officer throughout the Programme and Sport for Good kit (t-shirt & hoodie).

  • No prior experience is required just a passion to get involved.

Commitment:

  • Volunteers are asked to commit two hours per week, for a minimum of 6 weeks.
  • You can choose from different times during the week (Monday - Friday) to fit your timetable.
  • Training sessions run at the beginning of the academic year and again in Term 2 for all volunteers.
