Sport is for Everyone
We work alongside the Student Union and Disability Support team to ensure that there are accessible sporting and fitness opportunities for all students at the University.
We also have our own dedicated Disability Sport Officer (DSO), who can support you.
Whether you want support in the gym, to join a sports club or access specialist strength and conditioning services, we can support you in your ambitions.
All inclusive opportunities are currently online. In-person activities will resume in the 2021 Spring term in-line with all relevant government guidance and restrictions.
Sports Memberships for Disabled Students
Students who have a disability or long-term medical condition may be entitled to a 50% reduction in membership fees.
If you have a disability or long long-term medical condition and you feel that being physically active will significantly benefit you, you should contact the Disability Support Services Team for a referral to the Disability Sport Officer. Please note that you will be required to meet with an adviser (online) and provide the appropriate medical evidence.
Personal assistants and carers of students with a disability will be admitted free to the different sports facilties and swimming pool, but they will need to request a Sports Buddy card from the Disability Sport Officer when accompanying someone who has a disability or mental health condition.
Inclusive sporting initiatives
