Immersive music with AI workshop
I2MT is organising a series of workshops for female students interested in creating immersive music experiences using generative AI.
Applications are currently open
Program objective
Empower female and non-binary composers with AI tools for visual generation, enabling them to create their own immersive music experiences driven by music.
Final project specifications
The final project, to be delivered upon program completion, will consist of a 1–3 minute music piece accompanied by visuals created using generative AI and exported as a rendered music clip for display on flat-screen TVs.
As a bonus, a video will be provided to demonstrate how the immersive music experience can be exported as an executable file. However, since testing this format requires a VR headset, it remains optional and is not a program requirement.
Organisation
The program will run from mid-April to the end of May and will include a series of 1.5-hour workshops held on Fridays from 16:00 to 17:30. Session recordings will be available for participants who cannot attend live.
Additionally, a supervised discussion group will be available for technical questions.
Showcase of created projects
The final showcase will take place during the Green Week event in Burton-on-Trent in early June.
Technical knowledge
No prior technical knowledge is required. Participants will be guided through the installation of Unreal Engine 5, project setup and development, and final rendering with optimal settings.
Hardware requirements
A computer meeting the minimum requirements for Unreal Engine installation is needed. View specifications for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Access to a CUDA enable GPU is recommended. You can check your system towards described requirements.
However, if unavailable, we will attempt to provide cloud-based support. Please indicate GPU availability in the application form.
No VR headset is required.
